Urban Planning Hands-On Training Program for Mongolian Local Administrators organized cooperatively by Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) and Duzce Municipality with the participants from TDBB members in Mongolia, Bayankhongor, Chingeltei, Arkhangai and Sainshand took place in İstanbul and Duzce between 28 November–11 December 2015.
Hands-On Training Program in Sister City Duzce
Within the context of the program, firstly the delegation went to Duzce for 8 days, sister city of Sainshand city which has a local administrator in the delegation. In Duzce, the delegation visited departments of Urban Planning, Technical Works and Water and Severage, they executed site visits with the officers of Duzce Municipality and observed the applications during 8 days. Besides, Mongolian experts found the opportunity of see the historical, natural and cultural places of the city.
Mongolian delegation meet with Governor of Duzce Ali Fidan and Mayor of Duzce Municipality Mehmet Keleş on 8th December in “Friendship and Solidarity Dinner” in Topuk Plateu. Mayor Keleş expressed his pleasure of welcoming the delegation in Duzce and said: “Mongolia is the country has our sister city Sainshand. We really care the arrival of Mongolian delegation to Duzce for this urban planning. These kind of organizations are opportunities for relations, investments and projects between two city and country.” Governor Fidan also said: “Duzce and Sainshand have a sister protocol. The Mongolian delegation interested in history, culture and tourism near by the applications about urban planning. This issue is very important for publicity of Duzce. I want to thank to Mongolian delegation also from this side.”
The Experts were presented Cetificates of Participation
Mongolian delegation visited Zeytinburnu Municipality which has a sister city in Mongolia on Thursday, 10th of December, got information about urban transformation from deputy mayors Semih Demirci and M. Zafer Alsaç visited the urban transformation fields. Then they visited TDBB Headquarters, met with Secretary General of TDBB, Fahri Solak and got information about activities of TDBB. In the meeting, Deputy Governor of Chingeltei, Lkhagvasuren Javzii expressed his pleasure caused by the efficient projects and close relations of between Mongolian cities and TDBB. Secretary General Solak also signified his gladness about the close relations and he stated the close cooperation which will continue during the year 2016. Closing Ceremony finished after the presentation of participation certificates to the delegation members.
On 10th of December, Mongolian delegation paid a courtesy visit to Pendik Municipality which is sister city with Chingeltei Municipality. Delegation met with deputy mayor Cevat Yaman and got information about the municipal applications and discussed about new projects for sister city relation. On the back of visitation of historical and cultural places in İstanbul, participants turned back to Mongolia on 11th of December.
