A cooperation protocol was signed between Samsun Metropolitan Municipality and Osh Municipality (Kyrgyzstan), members of TDBB, for the process of twinning. In the signing ceremony that took place on December 3, 2015, Mayor of Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Yusuf Ziya Yılmaz said “Kyrgyzstan is our brother country. Between Republic of Turkey and Kyrgyzstan there are nice, healthy and sustainable historical bonds, and with these bonds, variable cities in our country create sister city relations by signing cooperation protocols with many cities of Kyrgyzstan.
In the speech he made in signing ceremony, Mayor of Osh Aytmamat Kadirbaev said, “With this protocol there will be a new gate between two cities. I think that this protocol will be beneficial for the cooperation between two countries, alongside with the twinning of two cities”, and invited Governor of Samsun and Mayor of Samsun Metropolitan Municipality to Osh city. After protocol speeches, the cooperation protocol between Samsun Metropolitan Municipality and the second largest city of Kyrgyzstan, Osh Municipality was signed between Mayor of Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Yusuf Ziya Yılmaz and Mayor of Osh Aytmamat Kadirbaev. The ceremony was attended by Governor of Samsun İbrahim Şahin, Rector of Osh Agriculture University Seit Amatov, members of Kyrgyzstan delegation, officials of Metropolitan Municipality and other guests.
