TDBB delegation headed by Uğur İbrahim Altay, President of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) and Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, visited Tatarstan between 22 and 25 September 2019 upon the invitation of Union of Municipalities of Tatarstan.

Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) September Executive Board Meeting was held with the hosting of Tatarstan Union of Municipalities in Kazan the capital of Tatarstan on 25 September 2019, Wednesday.

The Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) has published two books: “Altai Communities: Family and Family Values” and “Altai Communities: Dwellings and Housing Culture”.

TDBB Information and Experience Sharing Program of Uzbekistan Delegation organized by Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) in cooperation with Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), Konya Metropolitan Municipality, Nevşehir, Fatih, Selçuklu and Zeytinburnu Municipalities was completed after the presentations and site visits made in Konya, Nevşehir, Ankara and Istanbul on 8-14 September 2019.

From September 25 to September 28, 2019, the Safranbolu Municipality organized the 20th International Festival of Documentary Films “Golden Saffron” on the theme “Cultural Heritage and its Preservation”, among the supporting organizations, was the Union of Turkic World Municipalities (TDBB). An additional theme for this year was Safran. The winners of the festival were awarded the “20th International Golden Saffron Documentary Film Festival” award at the ceremony held in the city of Safranbolu.

Ankara and Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, became “sister city” with the protocol signed. Mayor of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mansur Yavaş and his accompanying delegation met with Governor of Tashkent Cihangir Artıkhocayev in Uzbekistan, where he went to make contacts. During the meeting, Yavaş expressed his happiness for being in Tashkent and emphasized that “Sister City” protocol between Tashkent and Ankara would be the first sister city protocol that he signed after his appointment.

Uzbekistan Senate approved the agreement on the establishment of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States. Uzbekistan will join Turkic Council as a full member with this agreement and Nakhichevan Agreement will enter into force on 14 October 2019 for Uzbekistan.
