“Turkish World Documentary Film Festival and Competition Award Ceremony” was performed in Zeytinburnu Culture and Art Center on 8 October 2016, hosted by Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) and Zeytinburnu Municipality. The festival, organized in the aim of introducing common Turkish cultural heritage to Turkish World and world, was organized in 7 Turkic Republics, autonomous regions and related communities, and the event was applied by 60 films from 16 countries.

 

Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) September Administrative Board Meeting was made in Istanbul with the participation of local government authorities from 7 different countries on 28 September 2016, Wednesday hosted by Sancaktepe Municipality. The meeting started with the projection of the video named ‘What happened in Turkey on July 15?’, prepared in Turkish, English and Russian by TDBB to tell about traitor FETO coup attempt made in Turkey on July 15. In the meeting the activities that took place since the previous Administrative Board meeting and the future project plans were discussed.

Organized by Member of TDBB Supervisory Board, Safranbolu Municipality, in the theme of “Cultural Heritage and Protection” and supported by Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) as one of the supportive institutions, “17th International Golden Saffron Documentary Film Festival” was carried out in Safranbolu between September 29 and October 2, 2016.

Mayor of Komrat, Capital of Republic of Moldova Gagauz Autonomous Region, Serghei Anastasov visited Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB). During the visit, the cooperation opportunities and joint projects between TDBB and Gagauz Municipalities were discussed. Meeting with Secretary General of TDBB Fahri Solak, Mayor of Comrat Sergei Anastasov stated that he is happy to be in Turkey and to be welcomed warmly and added, “We care for the cooperation with TDBB and we are glad to develop our relations with joint projects.” On the other hand, Fahri Solak declared his pleasure for having close cooperative relations and joint projects with Gagauz Autonomous Region, where Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) has 18 member municipalities.

II. World Nomad Games were organized in Kyrgyzstan between 3 and 8 September 2016, with the slogan “Power Together, Power in Soul”. The official opening of the games that took place in the 10 thousand-person hippodrome built in Çolpon-Ata city along with Issık-Göl, vacation center of the country, was made by the President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev.

Member of Administrative Board of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) and Mayor of Keçiören Mustafa Ak, welcomed performers coming from Turkic Republics to attend the celebrations of 25th Anniversary of Independence of Turkic Republics and also October 3 Turkish Speaking Countries Cooperation Day, in Esztergom Castle.

Member of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), Maltepe Municipality organized Gagauz Turks Culture and Arts Festival. A group of 40 people coming from Gagauzia with the support of Maltepe Municipality performed dance and folklore shows with their traditional clothes and introduced their local cuisine.

Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, member of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), and Ürümqi Municipality, capital of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (China), signed a Sister City Protocol. The signature ceremony in Ürümqi was attended by Deputy Mayor of Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Latif Karadağ and Mayor of Ürümqi İlham Sabir.
