The 2022 application period for the Master’s and Doctoral Thesis Support Program of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) has begun. Applications can be made to Union’s info@tdbb.org.tr e-mail address until 18 November 2022 within the framework of the following application principles of the Graduate Thesis studies support program.

Under the coordination of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), with the contributions of Beykoz, Selçuklu and Karatay Municipalities and in cooperation with the Ministry of Migration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Islamic Community of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Netherlands Proplan Foundation, in the name of the late Hatice Mehmedovic, one of the symbols of the search for justice who lost her husband and two sons in the Srebrenica genocide, the “Srebrenica Mothers Nursing Home Project”, was completed and opened with a ceremony held on October 23, 2022.

President of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) and Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay, was elected as the 2023 term presidency at the Leaders’ Summit of United Cities and Local Governments Organization (UCLG) on October 14, 2022 in Daejeon, South Korea where more than 240 thousand local governments are represented around the world.

Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) October Executive Board Meeting was held on 20 October 2022 by video conference method.

Under the coordination of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), Mongolia's Darkhan Municipality signed a sister city protocol with Gönen (Balıkesir) Municipality and Zeytinburnu (Istanbul) Municipality with the ceremonies held on 26-27 October 2022.

7th Turkish World Documentary Film Festival awards, in which Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) is among the project partners, were presented with a ceremony held at Haliç University campus in Istanbul on October 13, 2022.

Members of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) Olovo (Bosnia and Herzegovina) Municipality and Karatay (Konya) Municipality shared their experiences on thermal facilities and spa tourism.

Organized for the fourth time this year, the World Nomad Games were held in Bursa on 29 September-2 October 2022, hosted by Iznik Municipality. The organization, which was opened by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, was attended by approximately 1 million domestic and foreign guests in four days.

The “International Silk Road Symposium from the Past to the Future”, in which the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) is among the supporting institutions, was held on 10-12 October 2022, hosted by Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University.
