The Turkish World Municipalities Union (TDBB) April Board Of Directors Meeting was held in Istanbul on April 29, 2026, hosted by Bahçelievler Municipality, with the participation of local administrators from 9 different countries (Albania, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kyrgyzstan, Northern Cyprus, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Lebanon, and Turkey).

In cooperation with the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) and Konya Metropolitan Municipality, a training and field program titled “Konya Model Municipalism” was organized between 2–5 April 2026 within the scope of TDBB Academy for a delegation from Damascus, Syria. The delegation had the opportunity to examine local government practices in Konya on-site.

The periodical prepared by the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) will continue its publication life with a new name and renewed approach, covering the union’s activities and developments in the countries where its member municipalities are located. Published quarterly in two languages, the magazine will meet its readers under the new name “Turkish World”.

The Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) Member Municipalities Regional Meeting was held in Istanbul on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, chaired by TDBB Deputy Chairman and Zeytinburnu Mayor Ömer Arısoy, and hosted by Bahçelievler Municipality.

The Administrative Board Meeting of the United Cities and Local Governments Middle East and West Asia Section (UCLG-MEWA), of which the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) is also a board member, began with an opening ceremony hosted by Niğde Municipality on April 20, 2026. The meeting was attended by TDBB President and Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay, TDBB Secretary General Taha Zahid Özdemir, and local government representatives from 13 countries.

The “Timeless Heritage: The Silk Road Exhibition and Panel,” supported by the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), was held on 20 April 2026 in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, in cooperation with the Embassy of Türkiye in Bishkek, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), Turkish Airlines (THY), Istanbul Commerce University, and Marmara University Institute of Turkic Studies.

In cooperation with the Union of Turkish World Municipalities and Bağcılar Municipality, an expert training program titled “Local Tax Policy and Municipal Budgeting in Türkiye” was organized for a delegation from South Korea.
