The victims of the Srebrenica Genocide were commemorated on July 11, 2025, in Potočari, Bosnia and Herzegovina, marking the 30th anniversary of the atrocity. Members of the Board of Directors of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) also participated in the commemoration ceremonies.

The 2025-2026 application period for the Master’s and Doctoral Thesis Support Program of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) has begun. In this framework, the principles of the program to support students who are enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program at universities in Turkey and who have passed the thesis stage and whose thesis topic is related to “Local Administrations, Urban Studies and Common Cultural Heritage in Turkic Republics and Related Communities” have been determined.

The project titled “In the Footsteps of Evliya Çelebi: Ottoman Heritage in Bosnia and Herzegovina” was completed and introduced in 2024 in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) decided to cover the project expenses for the year 2025.

The July Administrative Board Meeting of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) was held in Kocaeli on 30 July 2025, hosted by Gebze Municipality, with the participation of local administrators from 9 different countries (Albania, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, TRNC, North Macedonia, Lebanon, Moldova Gagauz Autonomous Region and Turkey).

The “Soap and Candle Making Expert Training Program” for experts from Karatay’s sister city, Sauran Municipality in Kazakhstan, was held in Konya on 6-10 July, 2025, in cooperation with Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) and Karatay Municipality. Four experts working at Sauran Municipality participated in the program.

Organized by Keçiören Municipality, a member of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), the 2nd International Keçiören Turkic World Festival took place over three days, from 25 to 27 July 2025, at Kalaba City Square, creating a colorful and lively atmosphere.

The 16th International Tomato Festival was held on July 23, 2025, in Mamuşa – Kosovo’s only Turkish-majority municipality and a member of the Board of Directors of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB).

The “International Güzelyurt Art Meeting,” organized for the fourth time this year by Güzelyurt Municipality – a member of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) – and supported by TDBB, took place in Güzelyurt (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus – TRNC) from July 6 to 13, 2025.

Pendik Municipality hosted students from sister cities in Palestine, Kosovo, Hungary, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, and Turkey at its Youth Camp between July 1–5, 2025. The Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) supported the program by facilitating international participation.

The “Karatay Lavender Festival,” organized for the fourth time this year by the Karatay Municipality, was celebrated with various events in Konya between July 4–6, 2025. The three-day event broke its own record with 455,870 attendees. The Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) supported the festival by inviting sister municipalities from abroad.
