“Uzbekistan Local Authorities Information and Experience Sharing Program” organized by Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) in cooperation with Mahallabay Agency of Uzbekistan, Arnavutköy, Bahçelievler, Güngören and Kağıthane Municipalities was held in Istanbul on 16-21 November 2024.

The 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations (UN) Framework Convention on Climate Change World Leaders Climate Summit was held in capital Baku, on 12 November 2024. Hosted by President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, the summit was attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The climate summit continued with panels until 22 November.

TDBB High Advisory Board 2024 Meeting of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) was held on 28 December 2024, at the Union’s headquarters in Istanbul.

Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) is one of the supporting organizations of the event, which is organized in 19 different countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Georgia, Hungary, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Romania, Albania, TRNC, Iraq, Tunisia, Egypt, Palestine and Türkiye) The “7th International Turkish World Science and Culture Festival”, in which 200 students participated, was held in Samsun between 19-22 November 2024.

Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) November Executive Board Meeting was held on 28 November 2024 at the Union headquarters in Istanbul.

As part of the “Stationery Aid” project implemented by Zeytinburnu Municipality in cooperation with Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), stationery shopping vouchers were distributed to students in need living in Zeytinburnu district, where many Turkestani families, including those of Kazakh, Kyrgyz, and Afghan origin live.

A Video Conference was Held with Mayor of Gaza @munigaza and President of Union of Gaza Municipalities Yahya Sarraj, one of the members of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) Palestine. The Latest Situation in the Region and the Opportunities to Send Aid from TDBB Members were Evaluated during the Meeting.

Aktau city of Kazakhstan, a member of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), was elected as the “Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2025”.

A video conference was held with the Department Head of the Coordination Department of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan, Turkey and the Intergovernmental Joint Commission Bakhtiyar Norboev, one of the TDBB Member Countries. Cooperation opportunities were evaluated in the meeting with the Secretary General @fahrisolak.

People in Kyrgyzstan went to the polls on 17 November 2024. Voters cast their votes for 33 city councils and 231 district and village councils.

Mayor of Jarkent, Kazakhstan, Aydar Isaev, a member of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), visited TDBB and met with Secretary General @fahrisolak. During the meeting, it was agreed that Jarkent Municipality would be twinned with a city in Turkey.

A sister city protocol was signed between the members of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), Pendik (Turkey) Municipality and Uzgen (Kyrgyzstan) Municipality, at a ceremony hosted by Pendik Municipality on 26 November 2024.

Under the coordination of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), sister city protocol was signed between Karatay Municipality (Turkey) and Sauran Municipality (Kazakhstan) at a ceremony hosted by Karatay Municipality in Konya on 19 November 2024.
