Delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mayors under the chairmanship of Semir Efendiç, Administrative Board Member of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) and also Mayor of Novi Grad, made a solidarity visit to TDBB on 17 August 2016.
The delegation, which consisted of TDBB Administrative Board Member and also Mayor of Novi Grad Semir Efendiç, Mayor of Doboj Istok Kemal Bretiç and Deputy Mayor of Doboj city Milos Buhevloviç, met with President of TDBB İbrahim Karaosmanoğlu and TDBB Executive Members who are Burhanettin Kocamaz, Yücel Çelikbilek, Lokman Çağırıcı, Mustafa Ak and Uğur İbrahim Altay.
During his visit Semir Efendiç said, “First of all I congratulate Turkish Nation and Government for their attitudes towards the traitor coup attempt made on July 15. The Nation and the Government scrambled strongly against the coup and won. With the efforts it exerted, Turkey showed the world that Turkey is a democratic country.” Efendiç continued his words saying “As Bosnia and Herzegovina, we are happy for the economic development of Turkey for the last ten years. That’s why we were very sorry about July 15 coup attempt because it is sad to experience such a situation after this great development. This attempt was an attempt made to weaken Turkey. What has been done in Egypt a while ago wasn’t successful in Turkey as a result of the power of Turkish Nation and Government. On July 15, Turkish Nation put the transformation model of symbolic democracy into direct democracy into practice.”
In the speech he made, President of TDBB İbrahim Karaosmanoğlu said “Our members in Bosnia and Herzegovina mentioned their support for us in our lean times. Today they are also here to mention their support. I deeply thank all mayors in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We know that while we were keeping democracy watch here in Turkey, our Bosnian brothers were also keeping democracy in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They empathized with us. I personally thank them for their support in our hard days.”
On the other hand Mayor of Doboj İstok Kemal Bretiç said “I want to especially congratulate you. I congratulate Turkish Nation and Government for giving such a fast reaction to these traitors who are the enemies of Turkey.”
