Union of Turkish World Municipalities’ (TDBB) February Executive Board Meeting was held in Headquarters of TDBB in Istanbul on 19 February 2016.
The meeting under the chairmanship President of Union and Mayor of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality İbrahim Karaosmanoğlu was attended by the Members of Executive Board who are Mayor of Beykoz Yucel Çelikbilek, Mayor of Zeytinburnu Murat Aydin, Mayor of Bagcilar Lokman Çagirici, Mayor of Kechioren Mustafa Ak, Mayor of Selçuklu Ugur Ibrahim Altay, Mayor of Shahinbey Mehmet Tahmazoglu and Secretary General of TDBB Fahri Solak.
The meeting started with the briefing of Secretary General Fahri Solak on the present and future activities since the Executive Meeting on 20 January 2016, and continued with the discussion of the topics on the agenda.
In the meeting, issues such as giving participation support from member countries to “23 April International Kids Festival Training and Entertainment Fair” in Kocaeli between 23 and 26 April 2016 by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality; giving participation support from member countries to “5th International Folklore Festival” by Şahinbey Municipality; giving support to “Smart City Fair and Congress” in Istanbul between 01 and 03 June 2016 by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality; continuation of preparations of 2016 Nevruz Program organized in cooperation with Governorate of Istanbul, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and TDBB; actualization of “Yusuf Balasagun Year in Turkish World” in Istanbul on 19 February 2016 in cooperation with Kyrgyzstan Culture, Information and Tourism Ministry hosted by TDBB; signing cooperation protocol with Anadolu Agency; representative participation by TDBB to “2nd Global Climate Change Meeting” in Baku on 19 April 2016 by TURKPA; representative participation by TDBB to “6th Antalya International Urbanism and Technologies Fair” and “Local Governments Symposium” in Antalya between 16 and 18 March 2016 by Union of Mediterranean Municipalities; and giving support to “Ajvatovica Festival” between 27 and 31 May 2016 in Bosnia and Herzegovina and actualization of TDBB Member Meeting in Sarajevo were decided.
