In cooperation with the Union of Turkish World Municipalities and Bağcılar Municipality, an expert training program titled “Local Tax Policy and Municipal Budgeting in Türkiye” was organized for a delegation from South Korea.
Held on April 22, 2026, the program was attended by a 21-member delegation. Within the scope of the program, participants were provided with comprehensive insights into local tax policies implemented in Türkiye, financial planning processes in municipalities, and budgeting practices.
Throughout the program, the delegation was accompanied by Bağcılar Municipal Council Member Said Elkonca, Head of Foreign Relations Mustafa Araç, and Director of Financial Services Fatih Mehmet Peşmen.
The program began with an official visit to Bağcılar Municipality. This was followed by a visit to the Revenue Department, where participants were briefed on the municipality’s revenue management processes. A presentation was subsequently delivered by the Directorate of Financial Services.
As part of the program, a Korean War veteran was also hosted and brought together with the South Korean delegation. This meaningful meeting served as a reminder of the longstanding historical friendship between Türkiye and South Korea.
