The February Executive (Executive Committee) Meeting of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) was held on 20 February 2026 via video conference.
The meeting, chaired by the Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality and TDBB President Uğur İbrahim Altay, was attended by TDBB Secretary General Taha Zahid Özdemir and Executive Committee members: Mayor of Şahinbey Municipality Mehmet Tahmazoğlu, Mayor of Bağcılar Municipality Yasin Yıldız, Mayor of Başiskele Municipality Yasin Özlü, Mayor of Rize Municipality Rahmi Metin, Mayor of Pendik Municipality Ahmet Cin, Mayor of Ümraniye Municipality İsmet Yıldırım, Mayor of Yıldırım Municipality Oktay Yılmaz, and Mayor of Zeytinburnu Municipality Ömer Arısoy.
During the meeting, the following decisions were adopted: to provide support, within the scope of the “Aid Project for Palestine” carried out in cooperation between TDBB and its member municipalities, to the projects planned by Deniz Feneri Derneği for the Gaza region; to extend support, under the coordination of TDBB and in cooperation with Selçuklu Municipality, to the project titled “Support for the Events to Be Organized by the Ljiljani Novi Travnik Culture and Arts Community,” as requested by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change of the Republic of Türkiye; to support, under the coordination of TDBB and in cooperation with Selçuklu (Konya) Municipality, the “Salary Support for Municipal Personnel Project” requested by Beyt Hanun Municipality; to provide financial support, under the coordination of TDBB and in cooperation with Selçuklu (Konya) Municipality, for the trainings to be held in 2026 and the procurement of required materials upon the request of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Lale K Association; to provide financial support, under the coordination of TDBB and in cooperation with Selçuklu (Konya) Municipality, for the maintenance and repair works of the Sarajevo Mevlevi Lodge and for the events planned in 2026 upon the request of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Hadzi Mujaga Association; to allocate foreign currency in the amount of USD 20,000 for the “516th Ayvaz Dede Festivities” to be held in Bosnia and Herzegovina in June 2026 and to ensure participation on behalf of TDBB; to carry out preparatory work for organizing an “Uzbekistan Visit Program” for TDBB members in September 2026; to commission the production of souvenirs to be presented to domestic and international delegations visiting TDBB and to cover the related expenses from the Union’s budget; to undertake the renewal of the TDBB website (www.tdbb.org.tr) in terms of content and visual design and to cover the related expenses from the Union’s budget; to conduct work toward publishing a periodical magazine by TDBB; to initiate efforts to establish a sister city relationship between Ulgii (Mongolia) Municipality and a suitable municipality from Türkiye; and to hold the TDBB April Board of Directors Meeting in Kayseri, hosted by Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality.
