With the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), and the Turkish Literature Foundation, the “Meeting of Turkic World Writers and Poets in Talas” was held in Talas (Kayseri) between November 1-4, hosted by Talas Municipality, with the participation of 54 poets and writers from 14 countries.

Talas Mayor Mustafa Yalçın emphasized the importance of this special gathering that united the Turkic world in shared emotions. Mayor Yalçın said, “I would like to express my gratitude to our group, particularly to Chief Conductor Savaş Demirkol. They have revived our horizons and stirred our hearts. Through concerts and presentations during the Meeting of Turkic World Writers and Poets in Talas, we have crowned our program. I thank all poets, writers, and thinkers who have enlightened the Turkic world and came to our city with great devotion.”

In the panels held within the scope of the event, writers and poets from across the Turkic world were introduced to the historical figures and cultural values of Kayseri. In the first session of the meeting, participants discussed the lives and works of prominent figures who left deep marks on the city’s memory, such as Dâvûd-i Kayseri, Mimar Sinan, Seyyid Burhaneddin, Seyrani of Develi, Kadı Burhaneddin, and Emir Kalkan, thus highlighting Kayseri’s rich cultural heritage.

In the second session, figures such as Gevher Nesibe Hatun, Yaman Dede, İbrahim Tennuri, Ahmet Remzi Dede, Kadı Burhaneddin, and Hunat Hatun were discussed, offering a multifaceted perspective on the city’s historical and spiritual richness.

During the opening ceremony, speeches were delivered by Prof. Dr. Abuzer Turan on behalf of Azerbaijani poets and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pervin Nureliyava on behalf of Turkic world writers. Throughout the concert, hundreds of guests filled the hall, waving the flags of Turkic countries and republics while accompanying folk dances and songs with enthusiasm.

The stage performance by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s Turkic World Music and Dance Ensemble once again showcased the cultural richness of the Turkic geography through its rhythms and costumes.

This four-day cultural gathering in Talas concluded with a meaningful finale, resonating with unity, brotherhood, and the melody of the Turkish language – the common language of hearts.

Talas, the city where the Turkic world meets through culture – from poetry readings and literary walks to panels and exhibitions, the Meeting of Turkic World Writers and Poets in Talas once again demonstrated the importance that Talas Municipality attaches to culture, art, and literature.

Following four days of cultural and literary celebrations, the event concluded with a concert by the Turkic World Music and Dance Ensemble.
