The book titled “Altai Communities: Place and Water Names” has been published by the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB).

The volume consists of papers presented at the 11th International Symposium on Altai Communities, hosted by Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and supported by TDBB among other institutions. It features 73 papers by around 180 Altai studies scholars from Turkey, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, the Russian Federation, Japan, India, and Europe.

This comprehensive book, totaling 860 pages, was edited by İlhan Şahin, Fahri Solak, Naciye Ata Yıldız, Feridun M. Emecen, Üçler Bulduk, Saadettin Yağmur Gömeç, Muhammed Bilal Çelik, Aymira Taşbaş, Erhan Taşbaş, and Nergis Biray.

The articles in the book are presented in the languages used by the authors in their presentations – Turkish, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Uzbek, Turkmen, Russian, and English. To enable a wider readership, each paper is also accompanied by an English summary.
