Bağcılar Municipality, a member of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), hosted students from its sister city, Jeti-Ögüz Municipality of Kyrgyzstan, at its camp facilities in Kefken, Kocaeli, between August 11–16, 2025.
The students from Jeti-Ögüz, together with their peers from Türkiye, enjoyed an educational, entertaining, and adventurous summer holiday at the Bağcılar Municipality Kefken Camp, where the blue sea meets the green forest. The young participants spent joyful moments swimming in the sea, taking part in colorful activities, and relaxing by reading books in the peaceful environment.
The students also visited Bağcılar Mayor Yasin Yıldız, where they were introduced to the experiences and knowledge gained in local governance. In addition, they toured Bağcılar Municipality institutions to see successful practices firsthand. Alongside the students from Jeti-Ögüz, participants from Türkiye and Balkan countries also joined the summer camp.
Following the full program at Kefken, the students visited historical and cultural sites in Istanbul.
Bağcılar (Türkiye) Municipality and Jeti-Ögüz (Kyrgyzstan) Municipality had signed their sister city protocol in a ceremony held at Bağcılar Municipality on February 13, 2024, under the coordination of TDBB.
