The “Green Space Management in Municipalities” expert training program for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Živinice Municipality was organized by the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) in cooperation with Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality and Başiskele Municipality, and was held in Kocaeli and Istanbul between 04–08 August 2025.
Participants in the program included Salih Duric, Chief of Cabinet of the Živinice Mayor, Halil Podgorcevic, Representative of the Živinice Public Services Company, and Edin Butkovic, Representative of the Živinice Public Services Company.
On the first day, Tuesday, 05 August 2025, the delegation attended a presentation on Green Space Management at Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, followed by a field visit.
On the second day, Wednesday, 06 August 2025, the delegation visited Başiskele Mayor Mehmet Yasin Özlü in his office and received information about the municipality’s activities. Afterwards, they attended a presentation on Green Space Management at Başiskele Municipality and carried out a field visit.
On Thursday, 07 August 2025, the delegation examined projects of Kocaeli Metropolitan and Başiskele municipalities (Seka Park, Ormanya Park, Street Animals Rehabilitation Center, Kitap Kahve, Youth Center and Kitaphane, and Millet Bahçesi) and also took part in a cultural tour.
On Friday, 08 August 2025, the delegation toured Istanbul’s historical and cultural sites, and the program concluded the same day with the participants’ return to their country.
