The June Executive Board Meeting of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) was held on June 13, 2025, at the Union’s headquarters in Istanbul.
The meeting, chaired by TDBB President and Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, Uğur İbrahim Altay, was attended by TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak and Executive Board members, including Pendik Mayor Ahmet Cin, Yıldırım Mayor Oktay Yılmaz, and Zeytinburnu Mayor Ömer Arısoy.
The meeting continued with TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak providing an overview of the work carried out and the agenda items discussed since the last Executive Board meeting held on May 16, 2025.
In this context, the following decisions were made: To support and attend the “13th International Symposium of the Altai Communities” to be held in Hungary from September 3–5, 2025, on behalf of TDBB; To attend the “Zivinice City Day Event” in Bosnia and Herzegovina from June 18–20, 2025, on behalf of TDBB; To initiate efforts, under TDBB coordination, to establish a sister city relationship between Zavidovici Municipality (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and a suitable member municipality; To establish a sister city relationship between Zivinice Municipality (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and a suitable member municipality; To organize an experience-sharing program on “Green Space Management in Municipalities” for expert staff of Zivinice Municipality in cooperation with TDBB, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, and Başiskele Municipality; To carry out the “Restoration Project of Priluk Old Mosque” in cooperation with TDBB, member municipalities, and the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce; To establish a sister city relationship between West Bani Municipality (Palestine) and a suitable member municipality under TDBB coordination; To organize an experience-sharing program in 2025 for Mongolian local administrators in cooperation with TDBB, the Mongolian Association of Local Authorities, and member municipalities; To plan a cultural tour program in Turkey for high school students studying in North Macedonia, in collaboration with TDBB, the Union of Turkish NGOs of Macedonia, and member municipalities; To implement the “2025–2026 School Year Stationery Aid Project” for underprivileged students in Zeytinburnu in cooperation with TDBB and Zeytinburnu Municipality; To support participant attendance at the “Güzelyurt Orange Festival” to be held in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus from June 16–22, 2025; To submit Vogosca Municipality’s (Bosnia and Herzegovina) membership application to the Board of Directors with a favorable opinion; To hold the July Executive Board Meeting of TDBB in Gebze (Kocaeli), hosted by Gebze Municipality.
