Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) March Executive Board Meeting was held via video conference on March 19, 2025.
TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak, TDBB Executive Board members Mayor of Zeytinburnu Ömer Arısoy, Mayor of Bağcılar Yasin Yılmaz, Mayor of Başiskele Mehmet Yasin Özlü and Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Council Member Ahmet Karagözoğlu attended the meeting chaired by TDBB and Konya Metropolitan Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay.
The meeting continued with the briefing of TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak on the activities and agenda since the Executive Board meeting held on February 25, 2025 and discussion of the issues on the agenda
In this framework, within the scope of “Aid to Palestine Project” carried out in cooperation with TDBB and our member municipalities, to continue the works carried out in coordination with our member municipalities in Palestine for the delivery of the financial supports sent and to be sent to our Union by our member municipalities; to carry out studies for the signing of the Cooperation Protocol between TDBB and Uzbekistan Ministry of Economy and Finance in Uzbekistan in May; It was decided to carry out activities for the Sister City Protocol Signing Ceremony between Aytmatov (Kyrgyzstan) Municipality and Zeytinburnu Municipality under the coordination of TDBB; TDBB, Bağcılar Municipality and Başiskele Municipality will participate in the Nowruz and Iftar Program to be held in Cholpon-Ata and Jeti-Ögüz Municipalities of Kyrgyzstan; Carrying out a study on Strengthening Local Governments in Cities in Syria; financial support and participation on behalf of TDBB to the 2025 Ayvaz Dede Festivities of Travnik Muftiate; participation to the Commemoration of Osmangazi and Conquest of Bursa Festivities to be organized by Osmangazi Municipality on 4-6 April 2025; Organizing an internship program for the students of Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University in Turkey in the summer term of 2025 and providing support for the program by TDBB and member municipalities; Organizing the Experience Sharing Program requested by Kyrgyzstan Union of Local Authorities on 27-30 April 2025; Organizing the ’26th International Golden Safran Documentary Film Festival’ to be organized by Safranbolu Municipality on 7-10 May 2025. International Golden Saffron Documentary Film Festival’ to be organized by Safranbolu Municipality on 7-10 May 2025; to accept the cooperation request of Turkish World Research Foundation for ’25th Turkish World Children’s Festival’ and to hold the 7th Ordinary General Assembly of TDBB on 26 April 2025 at Zeytinburnu Culture and Art (ZKS) Center in Istanbul.
