Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) members, Zeytinburnu (Turkey) Municipality and Navoiy (Uzbekistan) Municipality became sister cities with a ceremony held in Zeytinburnu on February 12, 2025.

Mayor of Zeytinburnu Ömer Arısoy and Mayor of Navoiy Dilmurod Ergashev, Secretary General of TDBB Fahri Solak, Chairman of Yuksalish Institution and Member of Parliament of Uzbekistan Bobur Bekmurodov, Member of Parliament of Uzbekistan Zafar Khudaiberdiev, Representative of Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan Ravshan Sirozhitdinov and mayors of Samarkand, Shahrisebz, Fergana and Yangi Namangan and Deputy for the Protection of the Rights and Legal Interests of Enterprises Subordinate to the President of Uzbekistan Jamşid Urunov and Vice President of Yuksalish Movement Askar Mamatkhanov from Uzbekistan attended the sister city protocol signing ceremony held in Zeytinburnu Municipality.

During the meeting, the two mayors discussed the issues of further strengthening mutual cooperation and developing friendly relations in cultural, economic and business cooperation and other areas.

With this signing protocol, the cooperation between Zeytinburnu and Navoiy cities will further strengthen bilateral relations and contribute to the expansion of economic and cultural exchanges.

Following the signing ceremony, the delegation of Uzbekistan received information from the officials about the modern urban planning in Zeytinburnu, improvement of the urban environment, implementation of innovative solutions in the field of ecology and infrastructure. 

Afterwards, the delegation visited the Mosaic Museum in the historical municipality building accompanied by Deputy Mayor of Zeytinburnu Municipality Saffet Öz.
