People in Kyrgyzstan went to the polls on 17 November 2024. Voters cast their votes for 33 city councils and 231 district and village councils.
Local elections were held in Kyrgyzstan on 17 November. 2,437 ballot boxes were set up across the country. 39 political parties participated in the election, with 5,125 candidates competing for 993 city council seats and 10,439 candidates competing for 5,394 district and village council seats.
Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov cast his vote at ballot box number 1046 in Bishkek. President Japarov invited citizens to vote and said that local councils will undertake important tasks in solving current problems of the people.
More than 50 observers from more than 10 countries, including Turkey, attended the local elections in Kyrgyzstan. In addition, international institutions and organizations such as the Organization of Turkic States and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation sent observers. The final results of the election will be announced by the Central Election Commission on December 8.
