The 235th anniversary of the foundation of the city of Comrat, one of the members of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) Moldova and the capital of Gagauz Autonomous Place, was celebrated with various events on 16-18 August 2024.
The celebrations, to which Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) was also invited, were attended by Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Dorin Recean, MPs of the Moldovan Parliament, Chiefs of Foreign Missions, consulate representatives from Turkey, representatives of TIKA agency, representatives of the Sister Cities of Comrat Municipality in Turkey and invited guests.
As part of the celebrations, many cultural events and concerts were organized on August 16-18, 2024. In addition to entertainment programs for children, handicraft fairs, exhibitions, performances of local ensembles, concerts of local and foreign artists and various festivals were organized.
Congratulating the people of Comrat on the 235th anniversary of the founding of the city, Mayor of Comrat Sergei Anastasov noted that this special day in the city is celebrated with great enthusiasm and crowned with various events and concerts. Anastasov emphasized that the events featuring artists of different nationalities show the cultural diversity and friendly relations of the city. He also added that during the celebrations it has become a tradition to honor couples who have been married for 50-55 years and they want this tradition to be an example for young people.
