Summer Youth Camp, organized by Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) and Azerbaijan Youth Foundation, one of the cooperation organizations, with the support of Pendik Municipality, was held in Pendik between 09-12 July 2024 with the participation of 30 students from Azerbaijan.
Within the scope of the camp activities, activities such as Nature Trekking, Barbecue, Archery, Sack Race, Campfire, Chess, Football, Adventure Park, Tent Building and Fire Lighting, Music, Mountain Biking, Sand Volleyball, Movie and Documentary Screening, Tug of War, Educational Seminars, Egg Race, Mas Wrestling, Book Review, Table Tennis, Basketball, Live Foosball were held.
Students from Azerbaijan examined the investments made for young people in Pendik. The students visited the Barrier-Free Life Center, Sülüntepe Şehit Burhan Öner Sports Complex, Kaynarca New Generation Life Center and Hungarian Park. In addition, excursions such as the Historical Peninsula Trip (Hagia Sophia Mosque, Blue Mosque, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Palace), Bosphorus Tour, Tuzla Temapark enabled young people to have a good time and get to know Istanbul.
On July 12, 2024, Gadir Halilov, General Director of the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Atakan Yüce, Deputy Mayor of Pendik Municipality, spoke at the closing ceremony held at the Pendik youth camp and explained the close relations established between the two countries. They emphasized that in line with the policies implemented by the presidents of the countries, Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the relations have contributed positively to the youth field and therefore the number of projects implemented has increased and the tendency towards increasing friendship and brotherhood relations among our youth is increasing day by day.
