Bosnia and Herzegovina International Solidarity Forum – Emmaus Association celebrated the 25th anniversary of its establishment with a ceremony held in Doboj Istok on 29 April 2024. At the ceremony, plaques of appreciation were also presented to international organizations that supported the projects carried out by the association in 2023. Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) ranked first among the institutions that received a plaque of appreciation.
Representing the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), Doboj Istok Mayor Kemal Bratic, Federal Deputy Minister of Displaced Persons and Refugees Nisvet Mujanovic, Republika Srpska Region Red Cross Secretary General Rajko Lazić, Tuzla Canton Civil Protection Administration Director Zoran Jovanovic, and association managers and many volunteers who contributed to the work of the EMMAUS association.
Doboj Istok Mayor Kemal Bratic, who attended the event on behalf of TDBB, was given a Plaque of Appreciation for TDBB’s support to EMMAUS. TDBB, in cooperation with EMMAUS Association, supported many projects such as Doboj Istok youth center, Srebrenica nursing homes and financial support to Srebrenica student dormitory.
In the program, participants were introduced to the activities of the association in 2023. It was stated that the association provided aid to more than 12 thousand people in 2023, and everyone who supported the association was thanked. In this context, EMMAUS President Hamzalija Okanovic presented awards to those who contributed to the work. At the same time, EMMAUS’s ‘most successful volunteer’ and ‘most successful employee’ awards were also given.
