The December Executive Board Meeting of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) was held at the Union headquarters in Istanbul on 20 December 2023.
The meeting, chaired by TDBB President and Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay, was attended by TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak, TDBB Executive Board Members Mayor of Zeytinburnu Ömer Arısoy, Mayor of Beykoz Murat Aydın, Mayor of Şahinbey Mehmet Tahmazoğlu and Mayor of Bağcılar Abdullah Özdemir.
The meeting continued with TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak giving information about the work carried out and the agenda since the Executive Board meeting on 24 November 2023 and discussing the issues on the agenda.
Within this framework, it was decided to discuss at the TDBB Administrative Board Meeting to be held in January 2024 the issue of providing aid to Palestine under the coordination of TDBB and with the support of Turkish member municipalities and in cooperation with Turkish organizations operating in the region upon the request of our TDBB Palestine members to support the basic needs of the Palestinian people such as food, fuel and water, to provide support for the monthly expenses of the dormitory built by Bosnia and Herzegovina Emmaus Solidarity and Assistance Association in Srebrenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina, where 67 students stay, throughout 2024, and to carry out work to hold the TDBB January Administrative Board Meeting in Sakarya, hosted by Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality on 23-25 January 2024.
