Bosnia and Herzegovina Federal Minister for Refugees and Displaced People Edin Ramic and the accompanying delegation visited Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) on 18 June 2021.

The meeting was attended by Federal Minister of Refugees and Displaced People Edin Ramic, Deputy Chairman of TDBB and Mayor of Zeytinburnu Ömer Arısoy, Secretary General of TDBB Fahri Solak, Federal Deputy Minister of Refugees and Displaced People Sead Kopic, President of Glamoc Islamic Union Arif Kovacevic and Chief Imam of Glamoc Muhamed Dragolovchanin.

At the meeting, Fahri Solak informed the delegation about the projects in Bosnia carried out by TDBB, and TDBB Executive Board meeting and Working Visit program that will be held in Bosnia in the following days. Solak said, “This visit, which we will carry out in order to embody our projects such as the promotion program of the two books we completed during the pandemic period, the signing ceremonies of the newly established sister city relationship protocols, the bridge project groundbreaking ceremony, the opening of the old people’s home, the opening of the greenhouse, is an indication that we had a productive working period despite the pandemic conditions in the past period.”

On the other hand, Deputy Chairman of TDBB Ömer Arısoy stated that the book “Tombstones in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, published by TDBB, is an important cultural value and stated that this study, which consists of the compilation of tombstones, is a valuable effort. Arısoy stated that each of the tombstones has a meaning that they indicate socially, and that there is a similar study of Zeytinburnu Municipality.

Minister Ramic expressed his satisfaction that the nursing home project, which was built in cooperation with TDBB and Beykoz Municipality, was also supported by the Ministry and that such a beneficial project was carried out in cooperation with TDBB, and thanked TDBB for its support. The Minister also gave information about the walking path project carried out by the Ministry in the outer area of the nursing home and requested support from TDBB regarding the 3rd phase of the project, which has not yet started. The Minister also gave information about the status of the Children’s Sports area in Vares, one of the projects carried out in cooperation with TDBB and the Ministry, and the status of the primary school project built in Kokoscici Village in cooperation with TDBB and Selçuklu Municipality. Finally, Minister Ramic invited the delegation that will come to his country within the framework of the TDBB Bosnia Program to the Ministry. Edin Ramic said, “We are very happy to see that new projects are produced every time we visit TDBB. Every time we visit, we see the developments in Turkey closely and we try to adapt them to Bosnia.
