Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) and Zeytinburnu Municipality collaboratively gave pay checks to unfortunate students to buy stationary equipments in Zeytinburnu district where mostly many Turkistani families such as Kazakh, Kyrgyz and Afghan live in, within the context of “Stationary Aid Project”.

Accordingly to the education calendar which was established by Ministry of Public Education, full-time education began at schools for preschoolers and first grade students from the time on 21 September 2020. Mayor of Zeytinburnu Ömer Arısoy shared the excitement of the fresh students who are going to the school for the first time. On the first day of the school, the pupils received vouchers for stationery equipment in the amount of 40 Turkish lira, notebooks and washable hygienic masks named “Snow Sparrow” produced by AKDEM.

Owing to “Stationery Aid Project” which is implemented cooperatively by TDBB and Zeytinburnu Municipality, educational needs of the students were supported and also a great deal of contribution was made to the budgets of low-income families.

In the project, where stationery checks are distributed in different schools each day, there are serial numbers on the checks given to the students issued in the name of the student. With these serial numbers on the checks, students who go to the contracted stationeries in the district with their identifications may shop at the specified amount of the stationery where coupons are valid. Mostly the families with low income were satisfied with the application and that made the parents pleased.
