Governor of Mongolia Govisumber Gombodorj Batsuuri and accompanying delegation visited Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) on 11 October 2018. During the visit the membership process of Govisumber Province to TDBB and cooperation opportunities were evaluated.
During the meeting, Governor of Mongolia Govisumber Gombodorj Batsuuri stated that Turkey and Mongolia have common historical culture and as a result they have made a membership application to TDBB. Batsuuri added, “There are historical stones of ancient Turkish states in Govisumber. We can do a joint work with TDBB for the protection of these stones. Besides, 2019 is the 50th anniversary of Turkish-Mongol Diplomatic relations. We, as local governments, want to strengthen our cooperation. We are ready to do whatever is needed to develop our relations. I thank you for the hospitality you have shown to us. We will be happy to welcome and host you in Mongolia and Govisumber.”
On the other hand Secretary General of TDBB Fahri Solak expressed his gratitude for hosting the delegation and pointed out that Mongolia and Turkey are states that have common historical culture. Solak added, “We also wish to develop the relationship between two countries and we show great effort to accomplish this. Mongolia is one of 11countries which is represented in our Administrative Board. Nalayh Municipality is among the members of TDBB Administrative Board who participate the meetings often. TDBB has 30 member municipalities from Mongolia. Mongolia is one of the countries that we have close relations. The membership application of Govisumber has made us happy. As TDBB, we are ready to cooperate for the further development of our relations on the 50th year of Turkish-Mongol diplomatic relations.”
The visit ended after gift presentation and photo shooting.
