‘International City and Civil Society Organizations Summit’, hosted by Member of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) Esenler Municipality, in cooperation with Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, Ministry of EU and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, under the auspices of Presidency, was organized between 20 and 22 October 2017 in Istanbul, in the aim of developing the cooperation between civil society organizations that carry out projects for city, human life in local, national and international arena.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke and gave important messages in the special session of the summit, which was participated by 192 civil society organizations and universities from 60 countries including Azerbaijan, Albania, Bulgaria, Palestine, Macedonia, Serbia, Lebanon, Pakistan, Kenya, Somalia, Russia and Ukraine.

The summit, organized in Yıldız Technical University Davutpaşa Congress Hall, was attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, PMs of Istanbul Burhan Kuzu, Ahmet Hamdi Çamlı, Nureddin Nebati and Ravza Kavakçı Kan, Governor of Istanbul Vasip Şahin, District Governor of Esenler Hulusi Şahin, Mayor of Esenler M.Tevfik Göksu, many rectors and other guests.

In the summit which lasted 3 days, 157 presentations were made in 35 panels under 17 topics. There were also booths of the participating civil society organizations in the summit. In this way the participants had the chance to meet personally, to put socially beneficial projects into practice, and to transfer their knowledge and experiences mutually.
