The 2025 meeting of the High Advisory Board of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) was held on 11 December 2025 at the Union’s headquarters in Istanbul.
The meeting was attended by TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak, members of the Advisory Board, TDBB 3rd Term President İbrahim Karaosmanoğlu, TDBB Founding President Erol Kaya, Prof. Dr. Rahmi Deniz Özbay (Istanbul Commerce University), İlyas Kemaloğlu (Marmara University), and Özgen Keskin (Author).
The meeting began with a briefing to the Board on the activities carried out in 2025, followed by evaluations and recommendations from the Board members. During the meeting, the High Advisory Board members were informed about TDBB’s activities, Experience Sharing Programs, Sister City initiatives, training programs, domestic and international contacts, organized and supported social and cultural events, new memberships, TDBB’s new books and periodicals, and ongoing projects.
Afterwards, the Advisory Board members shared their opinions and recommendations regarding TDBB’s activities. It was recommended that TDBB continue its publications, experience-sharing activities, Sister City programs, and educational and cultural work. Additional suggestions included giving more emphasis to cultural and youth-oriented activities and increasing TDBB’s visibility through cooperation with regional and international institutions.
Later in the meeting, applications from graduate and doctoral students studying at universities in Türkiye under the TDBB support program were evaluated, and their work related to their thesis topics was heard. Within this framework, new applicants deemed suitable for support were identified.
