Organized by Pendik Municipality, a member of the Board of Directors of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), the “20th International Traditional Handicrafts Festival” was held in Pendik between 15-21 September 2025.

The festival hosted a total of 63 artists, including 16 artists from 10 different countries—among them Bulgaria, Crimea, TRNC, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Iran—as well as 47 artists from various provinces of Türkiye.

At the festival, where a wide range of works were exhibited—from needle lace to wooden toys, ceramics to tiles—art enthusiasts had the chance to closely view the pieces while also benefiting from hands-on workshop activities.

Pendik Mayor Ahmet Cin, in his speech at the event area, emphasized the importance of the International Traditional Handicrafts Festival. Thanking the artists, Mayor Cin said:

“Traditional handicrafts are among the most important branches of art in our ancient civilization. With this in mind, we continue to hold this event every year. Our artists present their works here with great effort. We extend our gratitude to our artists who strive and fulfill an important duty in passing on our ancient civilization to future generations.”

Mayor Cin also stated that between 2021 and 2024, 230 artists participated in events related to traditional arts and approximately 300,000 people visited the festival area.
