The eighth edition of the internship programs jointly organized by the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) and Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University was held in Istanbul between 07-31 July 2025.

Participants of the TDBB 2025 internship program included Aikol Belekova and Nuriza Mukhtarbek Kyzy from the Department of Business Administration, Zamira Bairakhtarova from the Department of Finance and Banking, and Aigerim Ganieva from the Department of Public Relations and Advertising at Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University.

The students worked in different units of TDBB, closely observing how international local government relations are managed, the procedures for international correspondence, how sister city relationships are established, and how TDBB’s operations function.

The students also visited our member municipalities’ departments including the Güngören Municipality’s Department of Support Services, Bahçelievler Municipality’s Department of Culture and Social Affairs, Ümraniye Municipality’s Department of Financial Services, Kağıthane Municipality’s Department of Enterprises, and Pendik Municipality’s Department of Press and Public Relations.

During their local government visits, students toured the Student Station, Güngören Academy, and Hanımeli Mansion at Güngören Municipality; the Barrier-Free Development and Life Center, BiCareer, and Gezeravcı Entrepreneurship and Incubation Center at Bahçelievler Municipality; the Cultural Center, Knowledge House, and Municipal Libraries at Ümraniye Municipality; the Gençhane Project and Young Entrepreneurs Center at Kağıthane Municipality; and the Science Center and Pendik Youth Development and Technology Center at Pendik Municipality.

The students also visited the İSAM Library, Nakkaştepe, Çamlıca Tower, Miniatürk, the Manas Monument, and many museums in Istanbul.

Additionally, the 2025 interns examined the activities of Yıldırım Municipality (Bursa) and later toured the historical and touristic landmarks of Bursa.

The internship program concluded with a ceremony held at the TDBB headquarters, where students received their certificates of participation.
