Živinice, a member of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) and one of the prominent cities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, celebrated “Živinice Day” on June 19, 2025, with a series of events. The ceremony was attended by the Secretary General of TDBB, Fahri Solak, from Türkiye, along with the commander of NATO headquarters in Bosnia and Herzegovina, members of the Tuzla Canton Government, and numerous local officials and guests.
During the official program held at the Živinice Municipality, visiting delegations met with city officials to discuss topics such as security, development, and international cooperation. TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak visited Živinice Mayor Began Muhić in his office and expressed the desire to further strengthen the friendly relations between Türkiye and Bosnia and Herzegovina in all areas, stating that TDBB is always ready to support Živinice in its development process.
As part of the program, awards and plaques were presented to individuals and institutions contributing to the community. This meaningful gesture served as a sign of gratitude towards those aiding the city’s progress.
The highlight of the celebrations was a concert and public event held on Živinice’s main boulevard. Thousands of residents gathered for an unforgettable night accompanied by music, featuring a performance by the famous artist Šejla Zonić. On the same day, the “Bosnian Cuisine” event offered guests a colorful experience where traditional dishes were showcased.
Local and international guests who came together for Živinice City Day expressed their appreciation for the city’s cultural richness, social solidarity, and development potential. “Živinice Day” was celebrated with the participation of representatives from nearly 10 countries and international organizations, along with about 500 guests.
“Honorary Citizenship Certificate” for TDBB Secretary General
During the ceremony, the Živinice City Council presented an “Honorary Citizenship Certificate” to TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak. The certificate was awarded by Živinice Council Chairman Nail Jusić and Mayor Began Muhić.
