Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) April Administrative Board Meeting was held in Istanbul on April 26, 2025 hosted by Zeytinburnu Municipality with the participation of local authorities from 11 different countries (Albania, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, TRNC, North Macedonia, Lebanon, Mongolia, Moldova Gagauz Autonomous Region and Turkey).
The meeting chaired by TDBB and Konya Metropolitan Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay was attended by TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak, TDBB Executive Board members, Mayor of Malatya Metropolitan Municipality Sami Er, President of Union of City Municipalities of Azerbaijan Temraz Tagıyev, General Director of Union of Municipalities of Albania Agran Haxhımalı, Mayor of Novi Grad of Bosnia and Herzegovina Semir Efendic, President of Union of Municipalities of Mongolia Batbold Sundui, Mayor of Mamusha of Kosovo Abdülhadi Krasnic, President of Union of Turkish Cypriot Municipalities (KTBB) Mahmut Özçınar, Bilal Kasami, Mayor of North Macedonia Kalkandelen, Muhammed Sadieh, Mayor of Lebanon Dannieh Municipalities Union, Savaş Kalaycı, Mayor of Karaman, Rahmi Metin, Mayor of Rize, Nezih Yalçın, Mayor of Akdağmadeni, Mustafa Atlı, Mayor of Kozan, Ahmet Cin, Mayor of Pendik, Ahmet Pekyatırmacı, Mayor of Selçuklu, Hüseyin Arslan, Mayor of Taşköprü, Ali Kemal Derin, Mayor of Tavşanlı, İsmet Yıldırım, Mayor of Ümraniye, Viktor Petrov, Deputy Mayor of Gagauz Autonomous Region of Moldova.
The meeting continued with the briefing of Secretary General of TDBB Fahri Solak on the activities and agenda since the Administrative Board meeting on January 29, 2025 and discussion of the issues on the agenda.
Within the scope of the “Aid to Palestine Project”, to continue the work carried out in coordination with our member municipalities in Palestine on the delivery of the financial support sent and to be sent to our Union by our member municipalities, to carry out work in cooperation with the Members of Turkey for the strengthening of local governments in the Cities in Syria, to support the Sister City Student Exchange Program of Chingeltei (Mongolia) Municipality in cooperation with Pendik Municipality, “EMMAUS-Srebrenica Hatidza Mehmedovic Project for Contribution to the Annual Expenses of the Residents of the Nursing Home” in cooperation with Selçuklu Municipality, Kalkandelen (North Macedonia) Municipality, realization of Clock Tower Project in cooperation with Konya Metropolitan and Selçuklu Municipalities, Jeti-Ögüz Municipality (Kyrgyzstan), realization of Kashgarlı Mahmut Statue Project in cooperation with Bağcılar Municipality, To organize the Bus Donation and Multi-Purpose Sports Field requests of International Balkan University in cooperation with Konya Metropolitan and Selçuklu Municipalities, to organize the landscaping and landscaping request of Güzelyurt Municipality building in cooperation with Selçuklu Municipality, to organize the Sister City Protocol Signing Ceremony between Aytmatov (Kyrgyzstan) Municipality and Zeytinburnu Municipality, to carry out studies for the Expert Training Program requested by the Union of Turkish Cypriot Municipalities in cooperation with Sister Cities, under the coordination of TDBB, To work for the signing of a cooperation protocol between Lebanon Dannieh Union of Municipalities and Union of Cyprus Turkish Municipalities (KTBB), to work for the signing of a sister city protocol between Taş-Kömür (Kyrgyzstan) Municipality and Tavşanlı (Kütahya) Municipality under the coordination of TDBB, Under the coordination of TDBB, to organize a Sister City Protocol Signing Ceremony between Konya Metropolitan Municipality and Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) Metropolitan Municipality and an Experience Sharing Program for Osh and Bishkek Municipalities, Under the coordination of TDBB, Organizing Sister City Protocol Signing Ceremony between Samarkand (Uzbekistan) Municipality and Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, Organizing Sister City Protocol Signing Ceremony between Selçuklu (Konya) Municipality and Nalaikh (Mongolia) Municipality, Providing financial support for 2025 Ayvaz Dede Festivities and participation on behalf of TDBB, Organizing an internship program in Turkey for Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University students in the summer semester of 2025, Accepting the cooperation request of Safranbolu Municipality for the ’26th International Golden Safran Documentary Film Festival’ to be held on 7-10 May 2025 and providing participation, participation of Kemal Bratic, Mayor of Doboj Istok from Bosnia, to the 26th Anniversary Ceremony of EMMAUS Association on behalf of TDBB, to carry out studies for a sister city relationship between Safranbolu and Berat (Albania) cities under the coordination of TDBB, to evaluate the support request of Varesh Municipality for the Clock / Friendship Tower Project within the cooperation of Sister Cities, It was decided to organize the Expert Training and Student Camp programs requested by Jeti-Ögüz Municipality in cooperation with TDBB and Bağcılar Municipality, to accept the request of Yükseliş Institution for inclusion of Samarkand Municipality in TDBB Board of Directors and to accept the membership applications of Tülüktüü (Gagauzia), El-Hame (Syria) and Aksaray (Turkey) Municipalities to TDBB according to Article 5, paragraph c of the Statute.
