‘Uzbekistan Regional Development Forum’, which was supported by Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), was held on 3-4 December 2024 in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, with the participation of representatives from Uzbekistan, as well as Turkey, USA, Albania, Austria and other countries.

The Forum was organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan, European Union (EU), World Bank, Austrian Ministry of Finance, Institute of Macroeconomics and Regional Studies (IMRS).

Secretary General Fahri Solak attended the Forum on behalf of TDBB and Cüneyd Gedik, Head of Property Management Department of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, made a presentation.

As part of the Uzbekistan Regional Development Forum, on Tuesday, 3 December 2024, sessions on The Role of Government in Promoting Sustainable Regional Development, Green and Climate Resilient Cities and Regions, Incorporating Green Transition Goals into Master Plans, Uzbekistan Regional Development Programme – Promoting Change at the Local Level to Improve Local Government Performance were held.

On Wednesday, 4 December 2024, sessions on Creating Green and Climate Resilient Cities in Uzbekistan, Incorporating Green Transition Goals into Master Plans, Promoting Local Government Performance and Citizen Participation and Open Budget were held.

Institutional Visits

Secretary General of TDBB Fahri Solak, who is in Uzbekistan on the occasion of the Development Forum, met with First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Norkulov and Director General of Foreign Relations Shukhrat Matkarimov. During the meeting, signing of a cooperation protocol between the two organisations and possible joint projects within this framework were discussed.
