The sixth of the “International Altaic Communities Symposium”, held every two years to provide a better understanding of the civilization structure and cultural values of the Altaic communities, was held in Istanbul on 24-26 July 2017.
The Symposium was organized with support of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), Bağcılar Municipality, Beyoğlu Municipality, Kırşehir Municipality and Küçükçekmece Municipality and Korea University of International Studies, Turkish Historical Society, University of International Studies, Chamber of Tradesmen and Artisans in Istanbul.
About 200 scientists, particularly from Turkey, from Azerbaijan, United States, Finland, India, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Korea Republic, Uzbekistan, Russian Federation, Turkmenistan and Ukraine participated in the conference held in Istanbul Aydin University.
The theme of this symposium whose topics were cultural and civilization values of people and communities known in the world of science as Altay Communities which have emerged from Altay and spread to Central Asia, East Asia, West Asia and Central Europe during the history, and has common and similar civilization values in many places, was ‘Housing, Family and Family Values’.
The symposium was held in 44 sessions on the theme of “Residence, Family and Family Values”. It is planned that the presentations made in the symposium will also be published as the publication activity of Union of Altaic Academicians two years later.
