Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) and Union of Russian Cities (SRG) signed “Cooperation Protocol” on 26 April 2017.
The signing ceremony in TDBB Headquarters was participated by President of TDBB and Mayor of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality İbrahim Karaosmanoğlu, General Director of Union of Russian Cities and Mayor of Tekstilşiki Ignatyeva Aleksandra Vitalyevna, Mayor of Zeytinburnu Murat Aydın, Mayor of Beykoz Yücel Çelikbilek, Mayor of Bağcılar Lokman Çağırıcı, Mayor of Keçiören Mustafa Ak, Secretary General of TDBB Fahri Solak, Deputy General Director of Union of Russian Cities Abramov Igor and Director of External Relations of Union of Russian Cities Grisun Ivan.
The cooperation protocol was signed by President of TDBB and Mayor of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality İbrahim Karaosmanoğlu and General Director of Union of Russian Cities Ignatyeva Aleksandra Vitalyevna. With the protocol it is aimed to develop the cooperation and joint projects between the local governments of two countries.
On the speech he made in the ceremony, President of TDBB Karaosmanoğlu said, “Today we are laying the foundation of an important cooperation for the enhancement of our friendship. This cooperation protocol signed with Union of Russian cities will conduce to conduct important projects for the benefits of our countries in the long term. In the cooperation of Union of Turkish World Municipalities as one of the important international organizations with its members more than 1.100 from 28 countries, and Union of Russian Cities, important projects will be conducted in the aim of joint benefits for the contribution to the regional peace.”
On the other hand signing the protocol in the name of Union of Russian Municipalities, General Director Vitalyevna spoke as, “We thank you for accepting our cooperation request and also for the protocol signed between two Unions. We want to develop the cooperation between the local governments of both countries. Established in 1991, Union of Russian Municipalities is an NGO that represents the municipalities in federal level, and its headquarters is in Moscow. The president of the Union, which includes 91 members like important cities as Moscow and Kazan, is President of Chelyabinsk City Council Mosharov Stanislav Ivanovich. The focus of the Union is to support the development of local government system in Russian Federation, to coordinate between the municipalities and to help to cooperate between local and international institutions. As Union of Russian Cities, we organize forums. We organized the fourth forum in Bashkortostan. We will have the fifth of it this year. We invite TDBB to this forum. In these forums every municipality introduces its best activities and works so that we create opportunity for dual experience sharing.”
