Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) May Administrative Board Meeting was held on 28 May 2016, hosted by Sarajevo Novi Grad Municipality.
The meeting, under the chairmanship of President of TDBB and also Mayor of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality İbrahim Karaosmanoğlu, was attended by Secretary General of TDBB Fahri Solak, TDBB Administrative Members, who are Sancar Ikramov on behalf of Kyrgyzstan President of Local Governments State Agency Bakıt Rıspaev, President of Center for Coordination with Local Governments in Azerbaijan Ministry of Justice Mehdi Selimzade, Bosnia and Herzegovina Mayor of Novi Grad Semir Efendic, TRNC Mayor of Güzelyurt Mahmut Özçınar, Angel Janev on behalf of Macedonia Mayor of Ohrid Nikola Bakraceski, Mayor of Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Burhanettin Kocamaz, Mayor of Beykoz Yücel Çelikbilek, Mayor of Zeytinburnu Murat Aydın, Mayor of Bağcılar Lokman Çağırıcı, Mayor of Keçiören Mustafa Ak, Mayor of Bolu Alaaddin Yılmaz, Mayor of Şahinbey Mehmet Tahmazoğlu, Mayor of Selçuklu Uğur İbrahim Altay, Mayor of Ümraniye Hasan Can, Mayor of Sancaktepe İsmail Erdem, Mayor of Kartepe Hüseyin Üzülmez, Mayor of Hendek İrfan Püsküllü, TDBB High Advisory Board Members who are Prof. Osman Horata, Dr. Özgen Keskin and Prof. Adem Esen, and Supervisory Board Members who are Mayor of Safranbolu Dr. Necdet Aksoy, Mayor of Kandıra Ünal Köken and Mayor of Altınova Dr. Metin Oral.
In the meeting the activities that took place since the former Administrative Board until recently were evaluated and the future organizations were discussed. After the presentations of TDBB Administrative Board Members on their activities for Turkish World, a briefing was made on TDBB Financial Reports. In the meeting, it was decided to support Bishkek Atatürk Park Renewal Project and “Community Clinic Orthodontics Unit” Renewal Project of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bihac Municipality, to give participation support to member municipalities within the framework of “2016 Ramadan Culture and Art Activities”, to support “Activities for the 25th Anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence” and “2016 Respect to Heritage, Develop the Country” Activity that will take place on 2 June 2016 by Istanbul Consulate General of Turkmenistan, to support “Caucasia in Ottoman Archives” Book Project, to organize Iftar programs abroad in cooperation with TDBB and Member Municipalities, to distribute “Divan-ı Hikmet” book to member municipalities by copying in cooperation with Ahmet Yesevi University, to publish “Bibliography on Kutadgu Bilig and Yusuf Khas Hajib” Book Project in TDBB Publications and to give support Ramadan Aid Projects by our Union and Member Municipalities.
Besides, the membership applications of Sarıkamış (Kars/Turkey) Municipality, Haliliye (Şanlıurfa/Turkey) Municipality, Skrapar (Albania) Municipality, Bulqize (Albania) Municipality, and Pale (Bosnian and Herzegovina) Municipality were decided to be accepted.
