“19. Turkish World Days”, organized by TDBB Member of Administrative Board Kastamonu Municipality and supported by our Union, was held in Kastamonu.

Mayor of Kastamonu Tahsin Babaş stated that during the program between 23 and 25 August 2015, many activities have taken place in the aim of Turkish World Days and these days are tools for the reinforcement of unity and solidarity.

On the first day of the program, on August 23, Babaş talked in the opening ceremony, and underlined the importance of Kastamonu in Turkish History: “Kastamonu is an important city where for 800 years Anatolia was the homeland of Turks and where from Seljuks and Ottomans to Turkish Republic, soldiers and statesmen were raised in every period for the homeland. That’s why it is a holy city important for being the only city which had the highest number of martyrs in Turkish War of Independence in Çanakkale.” The program continued with exhibition opening, horse races, Islamic ceremony for the martyrs, janissary band, Turkish World folk dances show, and Special Concert for 100th Anniversary of Çanakkale War.

On the second and third days of the program, on 24 and 25 August, cultural tour, folk dances, Ministry of Culture Çanakkale Theatre activities took place for the guests coming from Turkish World. The program ended with ‘Atatürk, Hat and Clothes Parade” of Public Training Center and then Fireworks Show.
