2nd Turkish World Journalists Council, which Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) was among the supportive institutions, was held in capital city of Tatarstan, Kazan between 26 and 29 May 2015. The Council, organized in cooperation with World Journalists Federation and TATMEDIA of Republic of Tatarstan, was attended by almost 70 journalists and public agents from 20 different countries. In the Council, whose first organization was held in Eskişehir last year, Turkish World Press Awards were presented.
In addition to TDBB, the Council was supported by institutions like AA, TIKA, Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), Directorate General of Press and Information (BYEGM), THY and TRT AVAZ.
Turkish World Journalists Kazan Declaration
At the end of the Council, in which issues like ‘Geopolitical Structure of Tatarstan in Turkish World, Communication Developments in Turkish World and Turkish World Journalists Workshop’ were discussed, “Turkish World Journalists Kazan Declaration” was proclaimed.
According to the Declaration of 13 articles, efforts will be made by governments to support national media organs that are responsible for spreading cultural values, protecting literary language and informing national intellectuals. Besides, steps for the improvement of “Turkish World News Package” prepared by AA, and Turkish World Journalists Federation’s taking active role in issues like making and distributing news will be attempted.
Furthermore in the Declaration, TRT Channels’ dialoguing with TATMEDIA and TNT Television for the inclusion of TRT Channels in cable network of Tatarstan has been decided.
The council ended with the presentation of Thank You Plaques and Certificates of Participation, and with the visits paid to different institutions.
