The Information and Experience Sharing Program themed as “Traffic/Transportation Management and Urban Renewal Applications in Local Governments”, organized by Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) in cooperation with Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) for member municipalities of TDBB in Mongolia between 11 and 17 April 2015, ended.

There were mayors, governors, chairman and department heads of 15 different cities and also Director of HCSO of Ulaanbaatar in the group of 20 Mongolian Local Authorities. The opening ceremony of the program, held in Union’s Headquarters on 13 April 2015, was attended by Mayor of Sancaktepe İsmail Erdem, Director of HCSO of Ulaanbaatar Tserendulam Shagdarsuren, Deputy Mayor of Bağcılar Ali Aydın, a group of 20 Mongolian Local Authorities and Secretary General of TDBB Fahri Solak. After the speeches, the Sister City Protocol between Sancaktepe Municipality and Nalaikh Municipality was signed by the mayors of both parties; İsmail Erdem and Lhagva-Ochir Baasan. After the ceremony, the delegation went to Bağcılar Municipality to be informed about the activities on Urban Transformation, then to IETT General Directorate on Environmentalist Applications in Public Transportation.

On the second day of the program the delegation examined the presentations on Smart Transportation Systems of ISBAK Inc. and Urban Transformation Applications of KIPTAS Inc.-which are Municipal Incorporations of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality-and made field visits.

Ankara Metropolitan, Keçiören and Altındağ Municipalities Shared Their Experiences

Within the framework of the program that continued in Ankara between 15 and 16 April, the delegation visited EGO General Directorate and was informed about Smart Transportation Systems. Afterwards, in the field visit, the group had the opportunity to investigate Urban Transformation applications in Keçiören Municipality on site. In the evening of the visit, “Sister Cities Meeting” took place with the hosting of Keçiören Municipality with great joy in a warm atmosphere. The meeting was attended by the sister cities of Mongolia in Turkey. The organization was participated by hosting Mayor of Keçiören Mustafa Ak, Secretary General of TDBB Fahri Solak, Mayor of Bilecik Selim Yağcı, Mayor of Düzce Mehmet Keleş, Mayor of Edremit Kamil Saka, and also municipal authorities of Çankaya, Gaziantep Metropolitan and Sincan Municipalities. After the opening speech of Secretary General of TDBB Fahri Solak, Mayor of Keçiören Mustafa Ak greeted the guests and stated the attention they paid to sister city relations. The municipal authorities, who gathered in the meeting, shared opinions on future cooperation areas and exchanged presents. Sister Cities Meeting ended after Mayor of Düzce Mehmet Keleş and Mayor of Sainshand Batbayar Batsukh signed Sister City Protocol and the Participation Certificates were presented.

On the second day in Ankara Mongolian Local Authorities visited Altındağ Municipality, watched the presentation on urban transformation activities of the municipality by Deputy Mayor Saim Parlak, and visited the urban transformation areas with the technical team.

At the last day of the program the delegation visited Istanbul Police Department and was informed about public security and traffic security by MOBESE Authorities of Information Technologies Department.

The program was attended by municipal authorities of Ulaanbaatur, Arkhangai, Bayan-Ulgii, Chingeltei, Choibalsan, Darkhan, Dundgobi, Erdenet, Hutul, Khentii, Mangalgobi, Nalaikh, Orkhon Soum, Sainshand, Shariin-Gol Municipalities of Mongolia.
