The traditional iftar organization, with the cooperation of Union Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) and Bağcılar Municipality, took place in Kazakhstan for the eighth time this year and brought the citizens of both sister countries.
The organization was attended by Vice President of TDBB Lokman Çağırıcı, General Secretary of TDBB Fahri Solak Phd., Republic of Turkey Almaty Consul General Suphi Atan, Member of TDBB and Mayor of Almaty Serik Kusayinov, Vice President of Kazakhstan Religious Affairs Meciyif Ğılınbek, Almaty Commercial Attaché D. Ender Öztürk, Almaty Cultural Attaché Nilgün Kılıçarslan, Bağcılar District Director of Education Mustafa Yılmaz, President of World Union of Ahıskan Turks Ziyaeddin Kassanou, President of Kul Hoca Ahmet Yesevi Foundation Ahmet Zekai Yakşi and many other guests.
Our relations with Kazakhstan have started to increase
Starting the program with the Quran recitation of Almaty mufti, Vice President of TDBB and also Mayor of Bağcılar indicated the happiness he felt for being together with Kazaks, Turks and Ahıskan Turks in this iftar organization; he also added, “30 or 40 years ago Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan were unreachable and travelling these places was unimaginable. Today with the common quest of founding President of Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and governments of Turkish Republic up to now, our relations have reached to a good situation and signing Strategic Consortium Agreement between Turkey and Kazakhstan has been a historical step. So we carried the joy of Ramadan in Turkey to Kazakhstan since 2006 and made it a traditional event.”
We wish our Union become powerful
Mayor of Almaty Serik Kusayinov, “Welcome to the iftar organization of these sister municipalities. We are sister countries. It is very honorable to break our fast together in here. I wish the friendship of Kazak and Turk folks. I wish you a happy Ramadan and Ramadan Feast.”
At the end of the organization the local singer Samtan Sayranoğlu sang with his instrument ‘dombra’. The iftar organization of almost 500 participants was also attended by Kul Hoca Ahmet Yesevi Quran School students.
