Another Nowruz in Keçiören

The Nowruz Feast, which is also called Nevruz in Turkish and  symbolizes abundance and fertility announced the arrival of spring in Keçiören  this year with the contribution of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities  and the the International Organization of Turkic Culture.
Nowruz feast was hosted by member of Union of Turkish World Municipalities,  Kecioren Municipality. The program held in the Youth Park. More than 250 artists from 18 countries participated in the Nowruz Festival.
The Nevruz Celebrations took place in the Municipality of Keçiören and were attended by Mayor of Keçiören Municipality and Vice-President of Union Mustafa Ak, Secretary General of TURKSOY Dusen Kaseinov,  Deputy Governor of Ankara Yıldırım Uçar, first participated in the symbolic “Fire-Lighting-and Iron-Forging-Ceremonies”.

TURKISH PM SENT A MESSAGE ON NOWRUZ

In the  celebration, due to his “busy schedule,”to attend the celebration of Nowruz,  the message from Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan also read. In his message, sign of abundance and fertility , traditions, customs and beliefs exhibited Nowruz, the celebration of the human spirit, a feast of nature awakening, he said. A belief that all religious and national holidays, a memory of common interest that society, traditions, emotions, and Prime Minister Erdogan used the following expressions reminiscent of nature was born: “Holidays is one of the most important elements in strengthening the bonds of folks with this feature. Is a tradition to celebrate the arrival of spring like today. Nowruz centuries of Turkish communities in different ways to the present day, but it is still celebrated in the same spirit. Thus, the common cultural heritage of this ancient days was transferred to the Turkish world. As a tradition which is part of our cultural heritage it is the most important feast of the Turkic World and strengthens the feeling of unity among its peoples. This feast which announces the beginning of a new year also symbolizes the revival of nature and brings along new hopes and wishes. This may be something which makes it unique in the world. Of course, Nevruz does not only stand for the joyful revival of nature. Indeed, this is also a period in which the human body and soul renews itself. With the beginning of a new year, feelings and ideas are also renewed. Therefore, besides bringing along the joy and excitement of nature’s revival, it also symbolizes hopes and positive wishes of all human beings on earth.”

PARTICIPATED IN MORE THAN 250 ARTISTS

The Nevruz celebrations were held in the Municipality of Keçiören with the contribution of artists from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Altai (RF), Bashkortostan (RF), Gagauzia (Moldova), the Khakas Republic (RF), Tatarstan(RF), Bosnia Herzegovina, the Chuvash Republic (RF), the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, the Republic of Sakha-Yakutia (RF), the Tyva Republic (RF), Crimea (Ukraine), Daghestan (RF), Kalmykia (RF), Kirkuk Turkmens of Irak, the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (PRC) and tajikistan who performed colourful folk dances of their respective countries.Tarih : 24.03.2013
