Doboj Istok Mayor Kemal Bratic, one of the members of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and his accompanying delegation visited its sister city Tavşanlı Municipality and the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) on 6-10 September 2023.
In addition to Doboj Istok Mayor Kemal Bratic, the delegation included Doboj Istok Municipality Council President Nusret Dautovic, Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina People’s Assembly Deputy Damir Şişic, Tuzla Canton Inspection Director Selmin Kariç, Doboj Istok Municipal Council members and International Solidarity Forum – Emmaus Association Director Elmedin Shkrebo.
The delegation visited Mayor Mustafa Güler during their visit to Tavşanlı. Mayor Güler, who told the delegation about the institutional structure of Tavşanlı Municipality and the projects it has carried out, said, “I am happy to see our Mayor, council members and officials of the International Solidarity Forum – Emmaus Association, who came to our Municipality from Bosnia. Our brotherhood will last forever,” he said.
The delegation then visited Cemil Köylü Nursing Home and chatted with the citizens staying here. Later, the delegation visited the Ada Recreation Area, Göbel, Kurşunlu Mosque, Bedesten and Mülayim Tepe Recreation Area, toured the streets of Tavşanlı and met with tradesmen.
Doboj Istok Mayor Kemal Bradiç thanked Mayor Mustafa Güler and his staff and said, “Our excitement increases every time we come here. The sincerity of the people of Tavşanlı makes us very happy. It is an honor for us to be in our sister city Tavşanlı,” he said.
The Delegation Visited TDBB
Doboj Istok delegation met with Secretary General Fahri Solak during their visit to TDBB on September 8, 2023. Thanking TDBB for all the projects carried out by TDBB in Bosnia and Herzegovina to date, Doboj Istok Mayor Kemal Bratic gave information about the Spreča Peace Bridge on the Spreça river, the construction of which is supported by TDBB. President Bratic said, “Restoration of Trebinje Islamic Union Foundation Building, Vareş Kokoşçiçi Village Primary School, Mostar Cemal Biyediç University Student Dormitory and Health Vehicle for Pale are very important projects that TDBB has recently carried out in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We made a mutual council decision to become a Sister City with Ankara Mamak Municipality, and we will hold a signing ceremony soon,” he said.
Bosnia and Herzegovina International Solidarity Forum – Emmaus Association Director Elmedin Skrebo also gave information about the activities carried out with the support of TDBB. He stated that 72 students stayed in the student dormitory supported by TDBB this year, and that the dormitory has financial stability thanks to TDBB.
Expressing their satisfaction with the visit, TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak also said in the meeting: “As TDBB, one of the countries we work most intensively with is Bosnia and Herzegovina. As you mentioned, we completed the Restoration of Trebinje Islamic Union Foundation Building, Vareş Kokoşçiçi Village Primary School, Mostar Cemal Biyediç University Student Dormitory, and Pale Health Vehicle projects at the beginning of June. We also follow the developments regarding the construction of the Doboj-Doboj Istok Friendship Bridge. In addition to municipal activities, we also support social, cultural and educational activities. We strive to cooperate with Bosnia and Herzegovina in a wide range of areas,” he said.
The visit was completed with mutual gift exchange and taking a group photos to commemorate the day.
