The September Executive Board Meeting of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) was held at the Union headquarters in Istanbul on September 6, 2023.
The meeting chaired by TDBB President and Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay was attended by TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak, TDBB Executive Board members Zeytinburnu Mayor Ömer Arısoy, Beykoz Mayor Murat Aydın, Şahinbey Mayor Mehmet İhsan Tahmazoğlu, Bağcılar Mayor Abdullah Özdemir and Başiskele Mayor Mehmet Yasin Ozlu.
The meeting continued with TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak giving information about the work carried out and the agenda since the Executive Board meeting on 20 July 2023 and discussing the issues on the agenda.
In this context, work is carried out to hold the 20th Anniversary of the founding of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) in Istanbul on October 20, 2023; To organize the experience sharing program for Turkish Cypriot Mayors in Konya and Ankara on 06-10 September 2023; Support for the visit program to be held in Turkey on 06-10 September 2023 by the delegation of Doboj-Istok (Bosnia and Herzegovina) Municipality in order to strengthen sister city relations; The promotion cocktail and exhibition of the book “Ottoman State in Historical Russian Maps (1700-1917)”, which was published among TDBB publications, was held in cooperation with TDBB and Zeytinburnu Municipality; To organize the experience sharing program for Bayan-Ulgii (Mongolia) Mayors on 17-23 September 2023 in cooperation with member municipalities; To organize experience sharing programs for Kyrgyzstan Parliamentarians and Kyrgyzstan Mayors in cooperation with TDBB and member municipalities; Under the coordination of TDBB, the Sister City Protocol Signing Ceremony between Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) Metropolitan Municipality and Konya (Turkey) Metropolitan Municipalities will be held in Konya in December; The “54. International Association of Audio and Audio-Visual Archives Conference” and “To support the 4th International Traditional Turkish World Music Council Forum; To support the “International Social Sciences Symposium of Turkey and the Turkic World in the 100th Anniversary of the Republic” to be held by Siirt University between 04-07 October 2023; Supporting the “Project for the Purchase of Computers for the New Computer Laboratory” requested by the International University of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with TDBB and Selçuklu Municipality; Participating on behalf of TDBB in the “2nd Azerbaijan National Urban Forum and World Habitat Day Celebration” program; The participation of Şahinbey (Gaziantep) and Zeytinburnu (Istanbul) Municipalities, representing TDBB, in the video-conference to be held on 14 September 2023 by the National Unions of Azerbaijan Municipalities (ABMA) and the Center for Working with Municipalities of the Ministry of Justice of Azerbaijan; Under the coordination of TDBB, working towards establishing a sister city relationship between Jeti-Ögüz (Kyrgyzstan) Municipality and a municipality approved from Turkey; It has been decided that the membership applications of Sauran (Kazakhstan) and Silwad (Palestine) Municipalities to TDBB will be submitted to the Board of Directors with a favorable opinion and that the TDBB Board of Directors Meeting will be held on October 20, 2023 in Istanbul.
