The International Art Meeting, organized for the second time this year by Güzelyurt Municipality, a member of the Board of Directors of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), was held in Güzelyurt (TRNC) between 23-30 July 2023.
The works made by the artists for a week were presented to art lovers with the opening held in the Güzelyurt Exhibition Hall.
At the Art meeting curated by Dr Arif Albayrak and Mustafa Cihangir, Farida Garayeva and Najiba İsmaylova from Azerbaijan, Farida Hamitnova from Uzbekistan, Soheyla Shiran from Iran, Miguel Tio from the Dominican Republic, from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Hüseyin Yalçın Yalçıner and Murat Oğuz, Özlem Deviren Oğuz, Özgem Uğur, Selda Mant, Sevda Mant Şen and Züleyha Arslan from Turkey were artist who participated in the event.
Güzelyurt Mayor Mahmut Özçınar stated that they have made the Güzelyurt Art Gathering event, the first of which they organized last year, a traditional one, and carried it to an international dimension. Emphasizing his belief that art and artists should be supported, Özçınar pointed out that they aim to organize art events in the city more frequently.
