The “Astana Sister Cities Forum” was held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, a member of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), within the framework of the “Capital Day” celebrated on July 6 every year.
The forum, organized within the framework of the 25th anniversary of the capital of Kazakhstan, was chaired by the President of Kazakhstan Kasım Cömert Tokayev. Experts from 15 countries participated in the forum.
In his speech at the forum, Tokayev noted that Astana is a city of great opportunities where every citizen can realize their potential, make a career, and realize their ideas and dreams.
During the forum, current issues of urban development and their roles in the modern global world as major centers of growth and innovation were discussed. In this context, various sessions such as “Digital transformation of cities: innovative projects, programs and technologies”, “Investing in cities as the key driver of economic growth”, “Future-oriented urban planning”, “World medical tourism market”, “Astana on the health tourism map” were carried out.
International sessions were held with the participation of governors of sister cities, business leaders, financial institutions, academics, representatives of non-governmental and international organizations, and local and foreign media.
More than 1000 experts from 15 countries, mainly Turkey, USA, England, Germany, Italy, Israel, Poland, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Japan, Azerbaijan and South Korea participated in the forum.
A number of international agreements were signed within the scope of the forum.
