The city of “Arkadağ”, which was built in accordance with the concept of “smart city” by using advanced technologies in Turkmenistan, was opened with a ceremony held on June 29, 2023.
Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedov as well as T.R. Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak, International organization representatives, senior executives from nearly 50 countries, diplomatic mission representatives in the country, members of the press and many other guests joined.
President Berdimuhamedov cut the ribbon and inaugurated city and accompanied by guests toured some of the city’s buildings. In the evening, a folklore, light and sound show was held at the ceremony held in honor of the guests.
In the first phase of the city of “Arkadağ”, modern structures such as social, educational, health, sports and cultural facilities and engineering systems were built, as well as 336 two- and multi-storey residences for 70 thousand people. In the city of Arkadag, which is equipped with modern technological equipment in accordance with the smart city concept and is characterized as environmentally friendly, electric buses and vehicles serve.
TOGG Delivered to Turkmenistan
The new destination of Togg, which was delivered to Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, was Turkmenistan. Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır delivered 2 white colored Toggs, named after Pamukkale Travertines, to Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the opening ceremony of the ‘Arkadağ Smart City’. Berdimuhamedov tested Togg and said he liked it very much. Toggs also participated in the cortege, which was held with the participation of mounted troops.
