In cooperation with the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) and Konya Metropolitan Municipality, a week-long “Emergency and Disaster Response Training Program” was organized for the firefighters of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) General Forces Command. The program was completed on June 23, 2023 when the participants received their certificates.
In the training program held in Lefkoşa the capital city of TRNC, Konya Metropolitan Fire Brigade provided training on combustion-fire information, traffic accidents, basic first aid, urban search and rescue, crime scene management and firefighting in Turkey.
At the beginning and end of the one-week theoretical and practical training, a success rate of nearly one hundred percent was achieved in the tests, and it was seen that the training was productive. At the end of the training, the TRNC General Forces Command firefighters were given their certificates in a ceremony held at the Police School Directorate.
Burhan Kadı, who works as a fire sergeant in the TRNC Fire Department, thanked the Konya Metropolitan Municipality and the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) for the training program.
Konya Metropolitan Fire Department, which continues its training in the international arena; also provided basic and advanced firefighting trainings to the fire departments of Uzbekistan, Montenegro, Tajikistan, Libya, Gambia, Palestine, Georgia, Macedonia and Somalia.
