Bosnia and Herzegovina International Solidarity Forum – Emmaus Association celebrated its 24th anniversary with a ceremony held in Doboj Istok on 13 May 2023. At the ceremony, plaques of appreciation were presented to international organizations that supported the projects carried out by the association in 2022. The Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) was among the institutions that received a plaque of appreciation.
The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Doboj Istok Kemal Bratic, representing the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), the deputies of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Federation Damir Sisic, Fahrudin Skopljak and Alija Tabaković, the Prime Minister of Tuzla Canton İrfan Halilagić, the Minister of Labor, Social Policies and Refugees of the Tuzla Canton government Fadil Alić, and the association’s executives and many volunteers who contributed to the work of the EMMAUS association.
A Plaque of Appreciation was given to Kemal Bratic, the Mayor of Doboj Istok, who took part in the event on behalf of TDBB, for the support of TDBB to EMMAUS. TDBB supported many projects such as Doboj İstok youth center, Srebrenica retirement homes and Srebrenica student dormitory in cooperation with EMMAUS Association.
In the program, the participants were introduced to the activities of the association in 2022. It was stated that the association provided aid to more than 12 thousand people in 2022, and everyone who supported the association was thanked. In this context, the EMMAUS Association Chairman Aziz Smajlovic presented an award to those who contributed to the work. At the same time, the ‘most successful volunteer’ and ‘most successful employee’ awards of EMMAUS were given.
