In cooperation with the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) and Selçuklu Municipality, vehicle was provided to EMMAUS Student Dormitory operating in Srebrenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina to meet the school transportation needs of Bosnian orphan children. The vehicle was delivered with a ceremony held on April 4, 2023.

TDBB Administrative Board Member and Mayor of Selçuklu Ahmet Pekyatırmacı, EMMAUS International Aid Association coordinator Alen Hodzic and other interested parties attended the delivery ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mayor Pekyatırmacı stated that as the Selçuklu Municipality, they continue to maintain good relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina, the heirloom of their ancestors, and said, “We delivered the vehicle needed for the service of our children in the dormitory operating for our orphans here in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Srebrenica. Hopefully, our cooperation will continue in the future. Here, we delivered the houses that were built for the mothers of martyrs before. Today we delivered our service vehicle. We will continue to be there for both our mothers and our children.”

Alen Hodzic, coordinator of the EMMAUS International Aid Association, who stated that the vehicle provided in cooperation with the Selçuklu Municipality and the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) will be used to transport the children staying in the dormitory in Srebrenica, said, “We will take the Bosnian children to Srebrenica with this vehicle. Therefore, this vehicle will meet an important need of ours. We would like to thank our Mayor of Selçuklu Ahmet Pekyatırmacı and TDBB Managers for their support. God bless you,” he said.

After the talks held in 2017, the financial expenses of the dormitory, which is located in Srebrenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and provides free service to secondary education students, with the decision of the TDBB Board of Directors, are covered by the cooperation of TDBB, Tavşanlı Municipality and Selçuklu Municipality.
